Dacre Tennis Club currently has a thriving junior membership
Coaching
At present this is offered to junior members, at reasonable cost, by Chris Worwood of No Limits Tennis Coaching. Junior Coaching mostly takes place on Saturday morning but the most experienced juniors currently have coaching on Sunday afternoon. The coaching groups are divided according to ability and each group has an hour of coaching per week. Coaching will commence on Saturday 25th April and will run for 11 weeks ending on the 18th July (No coaching on Saturday 30th May). Total cost for 11 sessions is �44.
Harrogate Junior Matchplay League
This takes place from May to July and Dacre have for some years entered one or two junior teams. Dacre's first junior team won the League in both 2006 and 2007. It provides plenty of goof competition and match play experience for the juniors against local clubs, in a friendly environment. Selection of juniors to play in the team(s) is usually agreed between the committee members involved with the juniors and Chris Worwood, the coach. Help from parents with transport to away matches and / or hosting home matches is always welcomed! Jane Robinson and Linda Savage are co-ordinating the junior teams this season. If you would like to be considered for these teams, please let them know.
Road To Wimbledon
Dacre Tennis Club is entering this LTA competition again this year. It involves a knockout singles competition for juniors (aged 14 and under) within the club. The overall winner goes on to the county competition in June/July. The county winner enters the national competition at Wimbledon during August.
